Book Trailer: Slice Cinco!

So I'm going to be involved in making a book trailer for Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I'd like your input and your talents, such as acting, costume development, filming and editing, sound and musical composition. Or just your comments. All of it. Any of it. Its all welcome. Please share with me here or in person your ideas and visions for this project. Also if you've read the book, you're one up on me.

Slice Quatro!

Now I need something from YOU! When you get a chance, it will take minutes at the most, answer these questions in a comment here.

How has technology affected your reading? "Well, in a sense. When I see movies or their trailers that I like, I usually research and find out if it is based off a book. If it is, I will read it...emoticon

o Do you view book trailers?

o Has viewing a book trailer ever encouraged you to read the book?

o What do you like about book trailers? Or not like? What makes them effective in your opinion?

o Have you ever created your own book trailer? What software did you use to create it?

o Are you interested in learning how to make your own book trailers?

The next teen lit lounge pick is... Troll's Eye View: A Book of Villainous Tales by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling. Request a copy asap!

Slice Dos!

There won't be any T.A.C on February 1st.

Slice Uno!

In February we're going to switch back to all teens, ages 12-18 will meet up on Tuesdays. We will still alternate between T.A.C. and Lit Lounge but the age groups won't be split. So I repeat, no more Thursday programs for teens. Aight.

So I've got a lot to update.

Yo teens. You've been avoiding little ol' librarian Dani? I see the guilt in your eyes. I've got a lot to say yo. I'm going to break it down for you in five slices.

Upcoming!!!

So Tuesday's teens chose something new for their Lit Lounge pick; Tales from Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan, a graphic novel! There are plenty of copies in the treasure valley but be sure to secure a copy as soon as you can.

We also reviewed some book trailers online yesterday. In the month of February, you will film your own book trailer which we will show on our digital screen at the library. You'll have the chance to share a book and entice others to read it by putting your ideas into motion. If you're looking for some examples I suggest you visit digitalbooktalk.com. Its a good idea to watch book trailers of books you have read and ones you haven't. Assess the ones that make you want to read the book and the ones that don't. Try and figure out what each has or doesn't that makes it effective.

Also, this Thursday the older group will be making their Lit Lounge pick, so be sure to stop by and put in your two cents.
